WoW Classic Gold Guide

Playing a warrior is expensive (talent re-specs, consumables, repairs etc.) and the pure DPS classes have better farming options. Here are some tips to keep up.

Alternative Characters ("alts")

Having multiple characters increases your self-reliance and saves you lot of gold/time searching for players to mix potions or disenchant BoEs. Start setting up those characters early on, gathering rested while you are leveling your main warrior. Commit to work on your farm alts regularly!

  1. Hunter with Herbalism, at least lvl20 for aspect-of-the-cheetah, farming Briarthorn/Swiftthistle in Westfall/Barrens, archived Petopia pet guide
  2. Mage with Alchemy for swiftness-potion, bring this up to lvl35 later for transmute-arcanite
  3. Any low-level character with Enchanting, so you can disenchant items (in Vanilla WoW you can disenchant all items even at skill 1/300)
  4. Further bank/AH alts, ideally lvl20+ Hunters/Mages (faster movement with aspect-of-the-cheetah/blink)
  5. Lvl18+ Warlock for create-soulstone-minor for AQ40+ progression raiding (if needed)

Comments:

  • You could already get Alchemy on the first farm Hunter, but I recommend using a second character, so you can level and get Engineering on both
  • If you choose Gnomish Engineering and do not intend to switch to Goblin Engineering due to preferring the ultrasafe-transporter-gadgetzan, make the first Hunter a Goblin Engineer to craft goblin-sapper-charge
  • Get knitted-sandals or similar low-level, tradeable cloth Feet item with enchant-boots-minor-speed enchanted. Have this for all of your alts

Professions

At level 60, Engineering is a must for Vanilla. Options for the 2nd trade skill:

  • Mining (solo play, very compatible with Engineering)
  • Blacksmithing (Armor for guild progression, Weapon for anti-fear trinket)
  • Enchanting (disenchant in your raids/guild, make money sitting in capitals)
  • Herbalism (farm your own consumables)

Professions def. not to take or to have on alts:

  • Alchemy (make your own pots, lvl40 alt is good enough, own Arcanite/transmute timer)
  • Enchanting for disenchant only (in Vanilla you can disenchant any item already at an enchanting skill of 1)
